Description

Product Description This is Nintendo Punk. Sixteen songs, thirteen about video games, two about junk food, one about freeing the lobsters from the tank at Red Lobster. Gaming songs are about loving Grand Theft Auto 3, being addicted to Aminal Forest, and hating Tomb Raider. Others delve into the inner psyches of fave game characters, like the angst-ridden Rayden on his prom night, a frustrated Renegade lost in the subway, and poor Lolo, faced with the decision of committing suicide (hitting select, to end the game) or living on to fight what he knows is a futile battle. All the important stuff. About the Artist OK. The band called 14 Year Old Girls. The story behind the story. The story of Nintendo(T) Punk. Because video games aren't just for nerds. They're for punks, too. Less like a band and more like a fifth grade group art project, 14 YEAR OLD GIRLS are a loosely combined unit, held together by electricity and 8-bit. Honey (male, 20) on bass and keyboard. Billy (male, 19) on guitar. Kimmy (female, 20) and El Halfy (male, 20) on co-lead vox. In human evolution, the next step is the gene-fusing of nintendo and punk rock, and that's where the 14 Year Olds come in. These girls bring the clap, the beat, the bop, the la, the cha, and a good bang. All with a handful of video games and some cheap instruments. This is not music for the cool. This is music for the dorks, the nerds, and the punks! It all started back in the year 2000. Honey was in love with this girl named Cootie, and she was 14. The end. No, just joking, but not really. Cootie was (still is) El Halfy's sister. Honey and El Halfy were brought together with Kimmy and Billy by their mutual love of video games and the lack of video game punk. In the early days, the band also included friend Nathan on drums. 14 Year Old Girls set out to start something new and fresh, and since all they knew about was video games and punk, that is what they sing about. And thus, Nintendo Punk was born. The first show was at a birthday party. They had practiced only once. They played and sucked. They sucked so bad. This is no joke. But that was only the start. They played more video games. They got addicted to Slush Puppies, Game Boy Advance, Sega Dreamcast, Final Fantasy X, Rilo Kiley, and Happy Supply. Then the unthinkable happened. Nathan was abducted by kung-fu ninja robots. He was then exposed to a lot of radiation and became a drum machine. After a long Street Fighter 2 contest, the 14 Year Old Girls won Nathan The Drum Machine back. Now, the kung-fu ninjas are really good friends with the band (because the Girls have a killer cool robot and the ninjas give them free pizza). The 14 plan: to spread the word of Nintendo Punk around the world in every town, and they can only do that with your help. The band plays more now, and practices less. Way less, and still sucks. But that is 14 Year Old Girls. They play way too many video games. Who needs practice? It's punk. Nintendo punk. Word to your mother.

Ok, I like this album a lot but there is one thing everyone else is just glazing over. It's only 17 minutes long. The whole CD only 17 mins. So it's really not worth buying. But then again it is almost imposible to find to download so if you have to get it get a used copy.
