Is it Tony’s fault that the lady of the house where he’s field tested falls in love with him?ROBOT AL was intended for shipment to a mining outfit on the moon. Instead, he’s loose in the mountains of Virginia…building from scraps of junk his very own, very dangerous disintegrator.ROBOT LENNY answers workaday questions in babytalk. I am slowly collecting the Harper Voyager editions of the Robot series due to the debacle with another unsavory seller when I ordered the 7-book set and received entirely different and far inferior editions. Other sellers will disclose if they substitute, the unsavory seller did not.Anyway on to this book. It's a collection of short stories, all of which are also found in the Complete Robot. Note the Complete Robot includes this book as well as stories from other Asimov books like iRobot. This book is a bit like a sequel to the first book iRobot. The stories in this one are a bit more ominous at first, but evolve to the more usual themes and plots of Asimov's later robot stories. These stories together with iRobot lay the ground work for his other series. I had avoided Asimov since the 1970s when his stories seemed to be everywhere. However, I purchased the Audible edition of the Naked Sun and listening to it was enough to hook me. I went back to the beginning starting with iRobot. The recommended order: iRobot, The Rest of Robots, The Complete Robot, Robot Dreams, Robot Visions, The Positronic Man (the expanded version of the Bicentennial Man), The Caves of Steel, The Naked Sun, The Robots of Dawn, Robots and Empire. The entire series is immersive. There are quite a bit of internal monologues, discussions of the "laws of robotics", and narration, so there is not much action at times. That doesn't bother me; I like knowing what's going on inside the character's minds. If you're a reader who prefers action vice dialogue, than this series might not be for you. I expect movies to be action oriented for the most part, but not books.I am glad I am finally reading this series.
